glassybaby supports Art Therapy

On Saturday, June 2nd at their Berkeley location, glassybaby held a special sale of their handmade glass votives, with proceeds benefiting UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Through this event, they were able to raise $4,240 in support of our Art Therapy program. Since 1999, glassybaby has given over $8 million to causes that align with their mission of helping people, animals, and the planet heal. Children’s health and wellness has always been important to glassybaby and they have been a supporter of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals for many years.

Understanding the importance that art can have on the healing process of our patients, glassybaby chose to dedicate the funds from the sale to our Artist-in-Residence program. Our Artist-in-Residence is a professional artist who works in groups and in one-on-one sessions, providing a nurturing and inspirational creative experience to every child. The benefits of Art Therapy are both short and long term, providing immediate relief from treatment while also giving the permanent gift of access to the arts and individual talent. We are so fortunate to have fantastic artists on staff at our Oakland hospital who evoke creativity in our patients every day and help build their self-esteem through art.

Thank you, glassybaby, for supporting artful healing for our patients.
