Aflac Volunteers at UCSF Food Farmacy

On October 19th, Aflac employees generously volunteered their time at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland for our bi-weekly Food Farmacy. Together, we they assembled over 300 bags of nutritious groceries to distribute to our patients and their families.

Many families that come to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland for care rely on inexpensive, processed foods because healthy foods are inaccessible in their communities. Our Food Farmacy program combats this through its partnership with the Alameda County Community Food Bank, providing whole grains, fruits, vegetables, eggs and protein to our families and patients – all free of charge.

Thank you, Aflac — your recent donation and generosity helps UCSF kids access the exceptional care they need.
