Safeway Community Day of Service

On May 16th, 30 volunteers from Safeway’s around the Bay Area came together at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco for a heartwarming Community Day of Service. Together, we assembled patient kits, created bingo cards, and toured the hospital.

Safeway has a longstanding tradition of giving back to the community. This year, nearly 400 associates from local stores came together for Community Service Week in Safeway’s Northern California Division.

Throughout the week, associates rolled up their sleeves and volunteered at a local non-profit in their community at 16 sites across Northern California. Additionally, the Safeway Foundation donated $1,000 to the participating charities for a total contribution of $16,000 to assist a variety of local non-profits, including our hospitals!

The annual Community Day of Service is a testament to Safeway’s commitment to strengthen the neighborhoods it serves. Thank you, Safeway, for your ongoing support and dedication to UCSF kids!
