Partner Spotlight: Pete’s Ace Hardware
Since becoming a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals partner in 1991, Ace Hardware has raised more than $64 million for local Children’ s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country. This success stems from the creative fundraising efforts of the Ace Hardware Foundation and the generous contributions of Ace retailers, Ace customers, vendor partners and Ace team members.
Here in the Bay Area we are fortunate to have many incredible Ace retailers working on our behalf. Pete’s Ace Hardware in Castro Valley is a great example of a store that perfectly embodies the spirit of ACE’s generosity. Inspired by a tour of the hospital a few years back, owner Linda Roark set out to increase fundraising in her store and help recruit other owners to get involved. Each year Linda participates in Ace programs like Bucket Day, Round Up, and World’s Finest Chocolate Bar sales while organizing additional special fundraising events like a recent golf outing for vendors.
Local fundraising has jumped from $42,000 in 2014 to $89,000 last year thanks in large part to Linda’s passion to inspire her team to raise money for our hospital.

As another testament to the store’s incredible fundraising efforts Pete’s Hardware in Castro Valley is currently ranked 10th in the nation in fundraising. If they remain as a top 10 store for the rest of December the Ace Hardware Foundation will donate an additional $10,000 to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
