Gamers go the Extra Hour for kids at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital

This past daylight savings weekend, gamers throughout the Bay Area and beyond raised funds for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals through the Extra Life gaming fundraiser. In it’s 10th year, Extra Life has raised almost three million dollars for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland. Over 750 gamers including streamers, community groups, and corporate teams hosted their own gaming marathons throughout the weekend raising a total of $553K and counting with more gaming to come in the following weeks! Fundraisers mobilized their co-workers, friends and family, and online communities to go above and beyond their goals.

Staff and community came together at Imgur’s San Francisco headquarters to game and fundraise for 24 hours. Team Imgur beat their goal and raised $22,200!
Members of the streaming team Playing With Fire gathered at Twitch.TV HQ for their annual 24 hour stream for the kids!
Chris De Gour of the Salesforce.com Extra Life team “Fragforce” has his head shaved at the Salesforce Extra Life event after beating his fundraising goal.
