CMN Partners Rally to Help Fire Victims

The wildfires ravaging the North Bay are devastating communities and causing unimaginable suffering and loss. Our hearts go out to all those affected—including staff, family, and friends in the areas that are directly impacted.

Many of our 174 Children’s Miracle Network partner locations in the North Bay have been affected, and a few have gone above and beyond to initiate relief efforts for residents that need it most.

Redwood Credit Union (RCU), a generous Santa Rosa-based supporter through the Credit Unions for Kids program, has partnered with state Senator Mike McGuire and the Press Democrat to launch the RCU Fire Relief Fund. Donors may designate their funds to one or all of the four affected counties of Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake County. RCU is covering 100% of administrative costs for this fund so that donations will directly aid those in need. Please visit https://www.redwoodcu.org/northbayfirerelief to learn more. Companies wishing to raise funds are eligible for partnership recognition at the $100K and $200K levels. To learn more, please contact Matt Martin, Vice President of Community & Government Relations at RCU at 707-576-5220 or mmartin@redwoodcu.org.

Ace Hardware stores are vital members of communities across the nation, and Marin Ace Hardware in San Rafael is no exception. Owner Michelle Leopold opened her store at 7 a.m. Monday morning, and by 7:30 a.m., every spot in the parking lot was filled with fire evacuees. Michelle offered evacuees doughnuts, bananas, milk, and access to bathrooms until a temporary evacuation shelter opened up a few blocks away.

These are just two examples of efforts happening across the Bay Area to help our North Bay neighbors in need. We stand in solidarity with our community and are committed to helping, healing, and rebuilding.
