Walnut Creek Rite Aid #1 in the country!

Saturday, May 19th marked the end of a successful Children’s Miracle Network Rite Aid campaign, with local Bay Area locations raising over $78,000 for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals! One location in particular, store #5948 in Walnut Creek at the Palos Verdes Mall, went above and beyond during the 8-week campaign and raised over $13,000, making it the #1 fundraising Rite Aid location in the entire country!

Store manager, Cheryl, was incredibly instrumental in the store’s success and spearheaded the fundraising efforts along with Assistant Manager, Bob. Cheryl ignited passion in all of her associates by not only getting everyone excited about the cause but also leading by example. Anytime a customer came to the register, Cheryl went beyond simply asking if they would like to make a donation- she spoke about the impact our hospitals have on the Bay Area community. From our Child Life specialists to our social services to our charity care, Cheryl made a point to educate her customers about the ways in which their donations can make a difference- and they certainly have!

UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are so lucky to be supported by people like Cheryl and her team. On behalf of our patients and families, we want to say a big thank you to ALL of our local Rite Aid locations for their fundraising efforts this year!
