Credit Union For Kids Wine Auction Raises More than $1.5 Million

The 17th annual Credit Unions for Kids Wine Auction returned this spring to raise a record breaking $1.5 million for the eleven Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in California and Nevada. To celebrate the occasion Redwood Credit Union CEO Brett Martinez and Patelco Credit Union CEO Erin Mendez presented a check on behalf of the event’s executive committee for $284,000 to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital leadership.

This year’s Wine Auction was back in-person after two years online during the pandemic and saw more than 450 attendees, including representatives from 62 credit unions, business partners and hospitals.

The CU4Kids Wine Auction is the largest single fundraising event, generating more than $12 million since 2006 for CMN Hospitals. This year’s event raised more than $1 million for the eighth consecutive year.

Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations and business partners from across the country, engaged in fundraising activities to benefit CMN, CU4Kids’ charity of choice. Credit unions are the 5th largest sponsor of CMN Hospitals. One hundred percent of every dollar donated by members of the credit union movement goes back to the CMN Hospital which serves the local community.
